Walnut Blasting is a safe method of removing carbon deposits from the inlet tract and inlet valves using fine granules of walnut shell which are blasted at high speeds using specialist equipment.
When blasted at high pressure the walnut shell granules are very effective at completely removing carbon build up but are soft enough to not cause any damage to the lining of the inlet tract and valves. This is a very cost effective method of carrying out this procedure as the requirement to remove vehicle components is minimal.
Keeping your vehicle’s intake valves clear of carbon build up is essential to its overall performance. Similar to how people need healthy lungs and clean air to breathe, cars must have engines and intake valves free of residue for normal combustion. When carbon builds up inside the manifold, we use a walnut blasting tool to blow crushed walnut shells through the engine with an air compressor. It may sound nuts, but trust us; it keeps your car performing at its peak.
You may not notice a decrease in performance if it happened gradually over time. That’s why Crown Performance recommends walnut media blasting as routine maintenance every 30,000 miles.
